The Club

Camps Bay Swimming Club has been in existence since 1946, and is arguably the oldest swimming club in the country. The Club is based at 11 Dunkeld Road, Camps Bay, on the premises of Camps Bay Primary School. We have a fully enclosed heated 25 metre swimming pool, and cater for all levels of swimmers from toddlers right up to masters.

Wendy Way is our head coach, and Kelly McWilliam is our Learn To Swim coach. Garth Davies is Club Chairman and the Club Administrator/Treasurer is Lynne Thirsk.

For the purposes of competition, the Club is affliated to Cape Dolphins and we compete under their colours.

Cadiz Freedom Swim 2011

The Robben Island Race was cancelled due to terrible conditions but both Danie Marais and Jaco Steyn took part in the alternate Round The Rocks swim at Blouberg on Sunday 8 May.

Danie was part of Team Young Money that won the Relay Race with a prize of $5000. Jaco gave the Solo Race his best shot but was unable to finish in the freezing, choppy and overcast conditions.

Well done and better luck next year!
